Tees Up! Second Annual Golf Scramble is a Hole in One

Happy Thursday everyone, it’s Rachel here! This past weekend, Mobile Initiative hosted our 2nd Annual Charity Golf Scramble right here in Louisville, KY. It was a beautiful day to golf and raise money for Norton Children’s Hospital!

The golf scramble was a day filled with golfing, games, raffles, and delicious food! Our focus was on our philanthropy partner Norton Children’s Hospital, and more specifically the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. All proceeds from this event went directly to the Foundation. The generosity from our community has contributed to a renewed excitement for Norton and all that they do. Ultimately, the donations will help Norton purchase cardiovascular technology and equipment, and hire specialists to take care of the growing population of children with heart issues.

Our annual charity event was held at Nevel Meade Golf Course, a beautiful course that was once again the perfect place to host our golf scramble. We had twenty-one teams of four who participated in the 2019 scramble vying for the $1,000 winning prize. After a long day of golfing, we had our winners! Congratulations to “VIDIONIX team 1” on winning the first-place prize and team “Hit Ball Far” for their second-place finish!

We also wanted to highlight and recognize some of the winners from our contests throughout the day:

  • Straightest Drive: Josh Frederick
  • Closest to the Pin: Matt Veltman
  • Putting Contest: Blake Ryan
  • Longest Drive: Matt Veltman

Unfortunately, no one managed a hole-in-one, but there’s always next year!

The team at Mobile Initiative is greatly appreciative of those who made this day special. Because of this event, Mobile Initiative is donating over $10,000 to Norton Children’s Hospital! We wanted to give a very big thank you to our teams, sponsors, volunteers, and Nevel Meade Golf Course – we could not have pulled off such a successful event without you all and we are so grateful.

Be sure to like our Facebook page to stay in the know about our future charity events and details for our next golf scramble! We hope everyone enjoyed this event, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the golf course in 2020!
