Make the Roads a Safer Place: DON’T BE A DISTRACTED DRIVER
There is a high chance you will see a distracted driver at least once a day. Perhaps you yourself have engaged with your smartphone while behind the wheel – sending text messages, emails, checking social media, or even talking on the phone. Maybe you’ve seen commercials or have read articles about the dangers of distracted driving. Even with all of the warnings about these distractions, our society often disregards the consequences of using a smartphone while driving.
We live in a technology-centered world in which smartphone users find it difficult to disconnect from their phones. That is why using a smartphone while driving is becoming a serious safety issue. There are many consequences to using a smartphone while driving.
- The National Safety Council reports the use of a cell phone while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes every year.
