Mike Dahl, Founder and CEO, has had a love for technology and entrepreneurialism since his very first job as a retail sales rep at age 15 for Circuit City. Since then, he has held numerous management and leadership positions, including Director of Sales for Sonim Technologies.
Effective in high-profile executive roles, with demonstrated strengths in business development, relationship management, and strategic partnerships, Mike has quickly positioned Mobile Initiative as a game changing player in the telecom space. Using his nationally recognized processes for improvement in distribution, forecasting, inventory control, and product development, Mike is consistently creating and evaluating the company direction with an innovative and future thinking product roadmap.
When not wrangling his two wild boys, he enjoys relaxing at the lake with family and friends, and saying too many one-liners from the 1980s by his man crush, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Stephen Thompson was born in Louisville, KY, the headquarters of Mobile Initiative. His fascination with technology began at a young age. After high school, he began selling computer electronics and cloud solutions to businesses and studying philosophy. He then began deploying and installing electronics. After working on technology installations for a broad range of businesses, he started his career in mobile telecom. This is where he met his two business partners, selling enterprise wireless mobility services.
Stephen loves to travel and indulge in fine foods and spirits in parts of the world such as Germany and Spain. This love for travel and adventure has created an extensive network of close companions all over the world. He also comes from a lineage of bourbon distillers, starting with Tom Moore, and has a mind to make that his next venture.
Brandon Wimsatt, was born in Louisville, KY, where Mobile Initiative’s Headquarters is located. He first entered the wireless industry in 2003 in retail sales. He then worked his way up to enterprise sales and transitioned to working with wireless manufacturers directly.
The only thing stronger than his passion for technology is his love for his black Labrador named Charlie, music, and summer.
A graduate from the University of Kentucky, Sam Pierce brings a passion for building relationships and closing sales to Mobile Initiative. From his beginnings as a retail manager and experience as an insurance salesman, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and drive to the sales team.
A savvy networker, Sam has established key synergistic partnerships that have helped Mobile Initiative explode to the front of the technology stage.
Victor Roman was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and has lived the majority of his life in the Carolinas. Victor comes from a military family, as his father served in the US Army for 23 years as a CW3. He grew up in what’s known as “Fayettnam” (Fayetteville, NC) playing baseball, basketball, and soccer.
Victor started his professional career at Cingular Wireless (which later became AT&T) at the age of 20. He experienced big technology shifts during his 10 years there – from Blackberrys and Moto Razrs to Mobile Hotspots and the first iPhone, Victor has been providing solutions to his customers for a long time. Victor went on to manage some of the largest and highest producing retail locations in the Carolinas as a Sales Manager III before taking on a new challenge, managing 2 Financial Centers for Bank of America. Victor took over a downtown location and turned it into a top performing Banking Center from an operational and sales standpoint.
Several years later, the urge to get back into telecommunications was inevitable, and Victor joined SYNNEX Corporation as a Business Development Manager for Mobility and Connection Solutions. Here, Victor provided his customer base carrier solutions to help grow their business by implementing a mobility practice. His department ended up being #1 in the entire channel. Through this journey, he was promoted to Supervisor over the team and in 2018, was an Honoree for the SYNNEX Presidents Club. This special recognition is awarded to a small number of SYNNEX associates worldwide, celebrating the Best of the Best.
Victor now lives in Upstate, SC with his wife and 3 kids. He is tasked with growing our carrier business and strategy around OEM Partnerships.
Ashley was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York. It was there that her affinity for the natural world, lakes, waterfalls, and good wine was derived. New York is also where Ashley pursued a degree in psychology, and where her grandmothers taught her the value of hard work, a true moral compass, and the game of golf. After their passings, Ashley traveled the eastern and gulf coastlines before planting roots in Middle Tennessee.
Beginning her career in small business management, Ashley has been instrumental in helping entrepreneurs launch, grow, and reinvent a number of small businesses. She also spent some time in the financial industry, where although accomplished by industry standards, Ashley felt the pull to do something more. As a product of her authenticity, Ashley’s network connections helped to align her within the tech industry. This transition allowed her to utilize her unique perspective and creative strategy, while feeding her insatiable curiosity. She focuses her attention primarily on solutions within the Public Sector – a demographic that she believes is overused and underserved, and ground level of where change for the greater good begins.
Mobile Initiative welcomes Ashley to the team as our Director of Public Sector Relations. She brings the team and our clients the passion, authenticity, poignant pursuit for better, aberrant perspective, and unparalleled drive and compassion that she has become known for. While Ashley will be in our Louisville office frequently, she operates from her home office in Nashville, Tennessee where she lives with her daughter and two dogs.
Taylor was born in Iowa but raised in Kentucky, where she went on to graduate from the University of Louisville. After graduation, she tried her hand in the mortgage industry but was quickly drawn back to her passion – marketing. She has since worked in roles including quality control, account coordination, and promotion coordination, all of which have given her invaluable experience.
Travis was born and raised in Henderson, KY where he excelled as a 3-sport athlete before continuing on as a baseball player throughout college. Travis graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Webber International University and moved to Louisville shortly after to be with family. Travis came to Mobile Initiative shortly after its conception and gaining extensive experience in B2B/Enterprise sales with Sprint. Travis’s love of technology, like several others, started with getting in trouble for spending ridiculous amounts of time playing computer games and it all developed from there.
Travis and his wife, Anna, love a good UofL tailgate, talking Game of Thrones/Stranger Things and getting after a crock-pot of Cajun Jambalaya.
Nick Roney joined Mobile Initiative in early 2019 as the VP of Software Development. He has over 10 years of experience in the software development field in companies ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies, and through his work has contributed to the online success of some of the largest brands in the country. Nick brings to the table a knack for finding innovative approaches to solve software development challenges, as well as the insight as to what digital solutions work best for different organizations. When he’s not diving through the latest innovations in his field, he enjoys fishing, boating, and hiking.
Jenna was born and raised in Florence, KY, and received her bachelor’s degree from local Northern Kentucky University. After graduation, Jenna moved to the Louisville area to pursue a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. After spending a year in technology staffing, Mobile Initiative’s strong partnerships with philanthropy sealed the deal and Jenna came on board around the company’s one-year anniversary. Jenna loves the fast-paced, yet relaxed environment of the company, especially all the fun events that go on throughout the work week.
Even though Jenna attends the University of Louisville, she is a diehard Kentucky Wildcat Fan. If she’s not working or in class, you can find her shopping at TJ Maxx or DIYing furniture in her garage.
Born and raised in Louisville, KY. Andrew has 7 years of sales experience in the cell phone/tech industry. He also brings an additional 8 years’ experience in Account Management/Project management to the Mobile Initiative team.
When not running his son around town for a baseball or basketball game, he can be found attending a UofL game or relaxing at the closest lake.
Luis was born in Cuba, but raised in Louisville, KY. He’s always had an interest in technology and applied his passion along with his bi-lingual skills in various Sales and Technician positions in the telecommunication industry. Luis graduated with a Bachelor’s of Computer Engineering & Computer Science from the University of Louisville, and soon after joined the growing Mobile Initiative family as a Software Engineer.
Mia was born in Lexington, KY, but was raised in various parts of the world including Egypt, Lebanon, and Abu Dhabi. After graduating high school, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology abroad, and later returned to Louisville to complete her MBA from Bellarmine University. After working for different advertising agencies, Mia needed a change and joined the Mobile Initiative team.
Wesley was born and raised in Louisville, KY and traveled south to Nashville, TN to attend college at Belmont University. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Communications with a minor in Journalism. From there she found her passion for writing and brand elevation through her jobs at The Marketing Squad and StyleBlueprint. She now works as Mobile Initiative’s Public Relations Manager, helping to increase local brand awareness.
Rachel was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She decided to attend college away from home at the University of Louisville. Rachel is currently a junior at UofL where she is majoring in Marketing and minoring in Finance. She began working at Mobile Initiative in the Spring of 2019. Rachel loves to use her creatives skills while working alongside the marketing team at Mobile Initiative.
